Brocante Bijoux

Plans and displays are coming together.

Madame LP arrives on Monday to care for the Brocante Studio and the Charlie Cat. 

She will continue unpacking boxes from France while I scour the brocantes for vintage and antique bonbons. 

She will make wonderful things, as only her talented hands can do.

Madame's smiling face is the one you will see at our Pop-Up Shop on July 19th. 

I am finishing jewels for the sale. Today it is earrings. Tomorrow, pendants and necklaces to adorn the antique mannequins.

This flurry of activity will continue until the eleventh hour ... just a few more days until liftoff!

Avoidance 101

 

Sometimes, when life's stressors are all clamouring for attention, it just makes sense to buy gemstones.  

 

Agate in this case.

I'm pretty sure there are some new garnets somewhere around here, too.

Brown Paper Packages {tied up with string}

I keep addresses.

I make each address label by hand, with antique letters. 

The letters are not a font, so cannot be typed. Each letter is placed and spaced individually on the computer, which takes some time.

So I keep them.

I am fortunate to have many many repeat customers, whose second, third, and fourth parcels are easy to address. I open their file, reprint their address label, and collage it onto their parcel.

If you've received something from the Brocante in the post before, you're in luck with this one. I've made  a pair of earrings with sterling, vintage French médailles religieuses, vintage paste, and faceted opals of the palest blue.

I will be mailing them out to a sweet friend of the Brocante whose address label is already crafted. This is a random mailing so it might be you.
