In the end it went smoothly.

Paperwork, taxes, more paperwork.
An excellent, and conviently French, Customs Agent*.
And now I unpack and unpack and unpack.
I am probably the only person in my neighbourhood that will have a large garbage can filled entirely with packing tape on collection day.
Lots of work ahead.
Bliss.
