We have been on the road.

The most tumultuous weather I have ever experienced in France.

A whirlwind of brocantes.

And the perfect getaway vehicle.

Admittedly, it needs a jolly good clean.

But I'd been to the clinic for my tetanus shot and I needed consoling.

Pastries and antique linens work every time.

I am feeling much better!

In Bloom

Nesting at the home of a dear friend for a few days.

Music. Wonderful food. Friendship.

The countryside that soothes my heart.

And an introduction to the French medical system. Impressive, I must say, but not what I had intended at all. Round 2 tomorrow for the tetanus shot (which must be ordered) and the redressing of the puncture wounds.

So it's not all roses, but it's still pretty damn good!

The Brocante promises nothing.

While we've hit it out of the park with a few of your requests, for others I am still looking.

Things that I have seen in the past are nowhere to be found.

Things I never dreamed of have fallen at our feet, sometimes quite literally!

The weekend brings new directions and a reunion with a friend of many years who has a few secrets up her sleeve.

All is good.

All is well.

Somewhere between A and B in the French countryside we pick up vintage wood-mounted puzzles.

The maps are for school children and will not help us find our way.

But we are already on the right path.

Abandoned

What could be better than finding an abandoned chaise still clad in its original silk?

Lovely muslin underclothes and horsehair stuffing.
