Most of the engravings I work with are 19th century, usually mid-1800s or thereabouts.
These anatomie engravings are from the 1700s, highly detailed and beautifully printed.
And you just know those artists were up to their elbows in cadavers...
How else would they get the texture and placement of the tissues just so?
