How To Answer Politely {when handed a bucket of bones}
What do you say when someone hands you a bucket and says, "Can you just take what you want out of this and throw away the rest?"
It depends entirely on what's in the bucket, but if it contains a bear skull, say yes.
If it contains two bear skulls, say yes and grab the bucket with both hands.
A tiny bird skull?
Why yes! That will do too.
Ditto the rat.
And if there is something of wolfish proportions, all the better.
But if there is a mountain sheep in that bucket?
Say Oui! Oui! Oui!
Profer kisses.
Tuck it under your arm and disappear quickly.
Before she has a chance to change her mind.

Moss Street
A huge and heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited with us at our Moss Street Pop-Up Shop on Saturday. It is wonderful to see so many of the same faces year after year ... we love our extended Brocante family!
A few photos taken in the middle of our setup yesterday morning.

For those of you further afield, our sale ties in with the Moss Street Paint-In, a wonderful community arts event that occurs every summer on the third Saturday in July. The Paint-In stretches over a kilometer, from the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria down to the ocean. There are 180 juried artists, interactive arts exhibits, food, and entertainment. And Pop-Up Shops.
In addition to the 35,000 two-legged Pain-In attendees, there are thousands upon thousands of four-legged companions.
This little sweetheart was one of our favourites of the day.
And this poor soul had just had enough. He opted for a siesta in the shade while his family shopped.
We hope to see you at Moss Street 2014!

Green Thumbs
I do not have green thumbs.
The lovely Miss Lisa has nourished and nurtured the plants in preparation for Saturday's sale.
She has green thumbs. And green fingers. Probably her toes are green too.
The plants, a mixture of tropicals and succulents, all have tiny new sprouts and leaves. They are practically glowing.
They are all looking fetching in their vintage trophies.
Moss Street, here we come!
