I could not resist his sweet face.
Wood shavings and flannel stuffing, to be sure ...
And wires poking out in the strangest places.
But those eyes.
The underbite.
The wrinkles.
He stole my heart.
He is a British White Terrier, an unsuccessful mixture of fox terrier and something whippety that was discontinued as a breed in 1890.
120+ years ago he had fur, an all white short coat that has since been lost to moths and woodworm.
I like the idea of the Victorian Veterinary School with le chien chauve as a practice specimen ... Cathy S. I believe that was your idea. Please email your preferred category of French fabulousness and I will send a treasure your way.
Thank you to all who played along with this guessing game. What a warm welcome for this sweet little soul.
xoxo

He does have the most soulful expression and he looks very grateful to have found his new home!! He was certainly well loved to have survived this long, a great story could probably be written about it. Thanks for the game & giveaway, will email!

he kinda hurts my heart a little. i don't know if it's the plaintive, almost hopeful look, or the way he's posed. it would seem to me that he was once the very beloved pet of someone wealthy enough to have him stuffed. if he was in a veterinary school.....someone wouldn't have taken the time to make sure he was as lifelike as he looks. he was obviously loved. a lot. and it looks as if he loved. a lot.
